Three area senior living communities participating in The Walk to End Alzheimer’s this past weekend have raised almost $2,000 to support the cause about which they are passionate. Approximately 40 staff, families and friends representing Foulk Living and Shipley Living in Wilmington and Millcroft Living in Newark participated in the event. Their donation also includes the proceeds from community-based fundraisers over the past few months.
“Millions of people are suffering today from Alzheimer’s, and the numbers continue to grow. Our senior living community provides memory care to amazing residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia,” said Leslie Johnson, executive director of Foulk Living. “Our communities chose to walk on their behalf because our residents are our family. It is our duty to increase public awareness of this disease and raise money to support the care and research in the hope of slowing Alzheimer’s disease for all.”
