Staff at Shipley Living Show Generosity and Care This Season

The life enrichment team helped compile gift wish lists for all residents, then staff members made sure they all received something from their list.

Through their generosity and caring, the staff at Shipley Living senior living community in Wilmington, Delaware, made very sure that all assisted living and healthcare residents received a gift for Christmas. 

Employees from all the different departments across the retirement community wanted to make sure the residents, whom they truly love, got some extra special attention during this festive time of the year. For the second consecutive year, the life enrichment team helped compile gift wish lists for all residents. Then staff members ‘adopted’ every one of them, so they all received something from their list.

The wish lists included items such as pajamas, socks, arts and crafts supplies, and Christmas cookies. The gifts were distributed to the residents for Christmas.

“Last year, when we first launched this gift-giving project, it felt so rewarding for the staff. Our goal was to continue to spread a little holiday magic for our residents, who we truly consider to be like family,” said Samantha (Sam) Oropeza, Director of Life Enrichment.. “It feels good knowing we can grant someone a wish, even the small and simpler ones.”
